Lunker’s Fishing Adventures is now offering overnight trips on the North Saskatchewan River. The trip will consist of two or three days of exciting fishing for trophy fish on the river.

Included is a guide, wall tent with cots and two or three days of wicked jet boating up the famous North Saskatchewan River.

Over the course of your trip we will target sturgeon, trophy walleye and jackfish just to name a few of the species found on the river. The one thing you can never be sure of when you reel up is, what is going to be on your hook. It could be the scrappy goldeye, whitefish or maybe even a trout. One never knows! This river system is truly one of the most underestimated fisheries around.

The joy of staying with Lunkers Fishing Adventure's is you can relax at the end of the fishing day. Swap stories and pictures around the campfire and tell some tall fishing stories!   

Our overnight trips are going to be the fishing trip of all fishing trips! The great thing is, one does not have to travel far to experience the great fishing that is offered right around the Edmonton, Alberta area.

Lunker’s Fishing Adventures practices catch and release fishing only. All fish caught on your adventure are handled with the most precious care. And once a quick photo is snapped, it's back into the water for another angler to enjoy.

One thing I see so many people do is when they catch a fish and want the perfect  picture. They get the fish into the boat and THEN get the camera ready. This is more time than the fish needs to be out of the water. Once the fish is out of the water and in the boat, it's a quick picture then a release back into the water.  

Fishing is a sport for everyone to enjoy.  Let's all do our part on the proper handling and release techniques of the fish we love to catch. More importantly, for our children and grandchildren in the future.

A true Canadian trophy Jackfish

Right here is a picture of a true Canadian trophy Jackfish. I was moose hunting with my great friends Kelly, Denny and Shaun just south of Ft Smith In the NWT. The moose hunting was a little slow, well let's just say it was really slow. I don't think we had seen a moose in days!!!  All of our hunting was done out of boats, so what does one do..... You start fishing!!!  

This trip up north is where my love for catching trophy fish started. It can be exciting and boring at times. You can go hours and hours waiting, just patiently starring at your rod tip, waiting for that bite, that strike, that anything!!! And then all hell breaks loose when your rod bends over and you set that hook!!! The game is on!! It's a game of give and take with large fish. You rest your arms when they fight, and you reel up when they are at rest!! Then, you get your trophy to the boat. This is where the fish a lot of fish are lost!! We managed to get this jackfish into the boat with no net. It was not easy, but we got the trophy fish into the small tin boat. We did not have a scale, as we were not there to fish we were hunting, but we did have a 48" measuring sticker on the inside of the boat. With the tail pinched, the monster was 50"! After we got our measurement and a couple photo's, we released the trophy jackfish back into the cool water for another angler to enjoy the same thrill we had  just experienced.  

It truly is moments like this one that can change a persons life. It changed mine. Fishing runs through my blood, it's who I am. It's what i do.
